Job Ad & Profile Description

Position : Commercial Change Director

This role will act as the Commercial interlock across the entire Change Portfolio, with accountability for providing commercial leadership on a series of key initiatives (including Order to Cash) and ensuring full alignment exists with Finance.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership:

  • Provide financial expertise to, and leadership on behalf of Business Operations across the project portfolio, enabling change and Sage to be a great SaaS business.
  • Drive improvements across key processes as part of the new change evolution for the Company, providing a finance perspective to challenge new processes as they are developed and implemented.
  • Ensure that end to end processes are standardised and streamlined, and that any financial impacts are understood, with key Finance stakeholders engaged and involved in making those changes happen.
  • Act as the Business Operations Finance Lead on each project with responsibility for ensuring the right colleagues (e.g. FBP) are involved at the appropriate level and stage, and that deliverables are met (e.g. benefits and costs) in line with programme timelines.
  • Provide finance leadership on Order to Cash, acting as the conduit with FBP’s to ensure successful implementation and delivery of benefits.
  • Sponsor and support the delivery of global initiatives across Business Operations, Customer Experience and Customer Success.
Required profile for job ad : Commercial Change Director
  • Strong commercial acumen with demonstrable experience of finance management.
  • Self-starter who can inspire and motivate people
  • Excellent stakeholder management capability, with the ability to manage and influence multiple stakeholders, including Executives and senior leaders
  • Highly collaborative and able to build good working relationships across the organisation and externally
  • Highly analytical, organised and driven to succeed
  • Strong interpersonal skills. The ability to establish credibility and exert influence with key stakeholders and suppliers at both a strategic and operational level.
  • Inquisitive and creative, willing to recommend ways to improve existing processes.

Key performance indicators:

  • Implementation of a standard set of subscription-based finance processes.
  • Improved collections, and reduction in billing errors as a result of the standard finance processes.
  • Improvement in Colleague Satisfaction scores related to internal systems and ‘way of working’.
  • Deployment and adoption of users around Quote to Cash.
  • Ensuring financial impact is understood for all major programmes.
  • Ensure successful reporting of benefits, managing the relationship between Business Operations and Finance.
